Biography: Adrianus Johannes Grootens
Adrianus Johannes Grootens was a Dutch painter, graphic artist and stained-glass artist.
At the age of eight, Grootens was a pupil at the drawing school in Bergen op Zoom, and later he became a pupil of Jan Karsenboom. In addition to painting, he also did stained glass. He did the stained glass windows in the main hall of city hall in Enschede. He was also a graphic artist. He did etchings and lithographs for book covers, title pages, etc. The woodcut issue of the magazine ‘Wendingen’ from 1919, he was featured with a woodcut in "Perenkops", printed on Japanese rice paper.
